Biking in the Rain part I

I have been there, I have done that! Biking in the rain, or snow for that matter, isn’t as bad as it seems. One must have accessory is the clear umbrella. Totes has one available at Target right now. It’s cheap too! Roll up your cuffs and you will stay dry the whole trip. Try it! You’ll see. search for Totes Elements Clear Bubble Umbrella

A shower cap to carry and put over the bike seat helps to keep it dry so you don't have to sit on a wet seat. Although when its rainy I try not to park it outside so the gears don't rust. Bu if you have to, WD-40 is good to spray on the gears and brakes afterwards to dry it out so rust doesn't take over

wrong! are you advocating riding with an umbrella, or am i interpreting this wrong? that is simply not a good idea and dangerous for even an experienced rider. try waterproof clothing, fenders, and glasses.also, wd-40 is NOT a bike lubricant: it may displace water in the short term, but you will end up with a dry chain and more rust in the long term. keep your bike out of the rain when possible, and apply lubricant (such as tri-flow or prolink) as necessary.
